CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES TO HOST 39TH ANNUAL EVENT
Dinner Includes RIT Building Tour, Leecia Eve Keynote, Environmental Leadership Awards
Rochester, New York – November 21, 2012 – The Center for Environmental Initiatives will host its 39th annual Community Salute to the Environment dinner on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Louise Slaughter Hall on the RIT campus. The event will feature tours of the newly-constructed, $38 million home of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability, on track to meet LEED Platinum certification. Leecia Eve, NYS Deputy Secretary to the Governor for Economic Development will give the keynote address on “Economic Development and Environmental Protection”. The dinner will be followed by presentation of the 2012 CEI Environmental Awards, including the Elizabeth Thorndike Environmental Leadership Award and CEI Awards for Environmental Excellence made to organizations in the building, public, NGO/education and business sectors.
